    Day 1: Istanbul (Tuesday 22 April 2008)

    Welcome cocktail included
    Welcome to Turkey, arrival into Istanbul.
    Transfer from airport & check in to your hotel.
    Welcome cocktail at 730pm at the hotel. Tonight we can take you to a welcome gala dinner with our Traditional Turkish Night, an optional activity.
    You can meet our friendly crew and other travellers while enjoying traditional Turkish Food and enjoy the mystical atmosphere of Istanbul at night.
    The evening starts at 8:30 pm.
    Overnight at 3star Hotel in Istanbul Hamidiye Hotel.

    Note!! Note!! Free transfers are available from Istanbul Ataturk Airport throughout today. Please confirm your flight details in advance. Transfers from Sabiha Gokcen Airport are at extra cost.

    Day 2: Istanbul City Tour (Wednesday 23rd April 2008)

    We depart from the hotel at 08:30 for the Istanbul city tour.
    TOPKAPI PALACE The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.
    SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.
    HIPPODROME Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Lunch break and then we head to the SPICE BAZAAR (Egyptian Bazaar) The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. After the tour you have the option to experience The Bosphorus Cruise.
    You will have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of Bosphorus which is connecting Asia to Europe.
    Tonight nearly every tour group will have arrived.
    We have a welcome ANZAC Party arranged to meet and greet the groups and tour guides.
    This is an optional activity, unlimited local drinks from 9:00 - 11:00 pm!

    Day 3: Gallipoli Dawn Service (Thursday 24 April 2008)

    We depart for Gallipoli at 07:00 (4.5 hour drive).
    On the way we will have the chance to watch the latest documentary on the Gallipoli Campaign.
    We arrive in Gallipoli for lunch. We will have an Anzac lunch on the coast of Gabatepe.
    We then start our tour of the Gallipoli Peninsula. We visit Gabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Australia’s Memorial and Cemetery, Quinn's Post, Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery, The Nek, Chunuk-Bair New Zealand Memorial and Cemetery.
    After the tour we drive to the coast of Gabatepe again for our big ANZAC BBQ buffet dinner (optional).
    Prior to dinner we will stop at a supermarket for additional supplies for our overnight stay at ANZAC Cove. To those who decline the fantastic buffet BBQ, this will be your only stop for dinner also.
    After dinner at approx 21.30 pm we will depart for the Dawn Service.

    Day 4: TROY Dawn Service (Friday 25 April 2008)

    Don't forget your sleeping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear and torches because Gallipoli is still as dark and cold today as it was 93 years ago when your ancestors landed.
    04:30 Dawn Service.
    10:30 Australian National service.
    11.45 Turkish National Service.
    13:00 New Zealand National service.

    After the services, we depart for the ancient city of Troy (40 minute drive). Your guide will explain the mythology surrounding Troy, the Trojan Horse and Helen of Troy.
    After Troy, return to our hotel where we will have dinner. The evening is yours. You can enjoy the beach and the pool, relax and have fun with your new friends.

    Day 5: Bergama Tour | Kusadasi (Saturday 26 April 2008)

    Drive to Pergamum (45 minutes) - see Asklepion, Zeus alter, Red Basilica etc.
    BERGAMA is the site of the Hellenistic - and later Roman - city of Pergamum, ruled for several centuries by a powerful local dynasty.
    It is foremost attraction is the Kizil Avlu or "Red Basilica", a huge edifice on the river not far from the acropolis, originally built as a temple to the Egyptian god Osiris and converted to a basilica by the early Christians, when it was one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor addressed by St John in the book of Revelation - though sadly it's now a crumbling ruin with a mosque in one of its towers.
    Then departure for Kusadasi. On the way, we will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre.
    Then we have the option of a Turkish Bath before checking into your hotel. Have a rest till dinner time.
    After having dinner at your hotel, you will have the free time to stroll.

    Day 6: Ephesus & Kusadasi (Sunday 27th April 2008)

    0830 we depart for Ephesus (20 min drive) - once the commercial centre of the ancient world - is a highlight of any visit to Turkey.
    The city, whose wealth and patronage supported its splendid architectural program, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis.
    Her enormous temple, once considered one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World and rebuilt several times, dates in its latest form from the third century B.C.
    The tour of the ruins also includes a theatre, gymnasium, agora and baths, as well as the Library of Celsius.
    After lunch, we will make a shopping tour in which you will be aware of the ancient arts of Turkey like leather manufacturing and jewellery.
    As this will be a guided tour, you will avoid the constant nagging and sometimes bullying that is well known in the markets of Turkey.
    Enabling you to enjoy the shopping experience whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen.

    Day 7: Pamukkale Tour (Monday 28th April 2008)

    At 08:30 we depart for Pamukkale (2.5 hour drive).
    We then arrive at Pamukkale for lunch.
    Afterwards we shall visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, then walk around this natural phenomenon and give you the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs.
    After our days activities we will check into our hotel in Pamukkale Dinner will be served at the hotel and the rest of the night is yours.
    Overnight in 3 star Hotel Pamukkale.

    Day 8: Pamukkale & Dalyan Math Bath | Fethiye (Tuesday 29 April 2008)

    After Breakfast depart for Dalyan (4 hour drive).
    Dalyan is a very popular small town not spoiled by buildings.
    The wonderful 7 kilometres sandy Iztuzu Beach, which is accessible by a 45 minutes boat trip, is one of the last nesting areas for the Caretta Caretta, Sea Turtles. Lunch break.
    A 15 minutes' boat trip will take you to the sulphur bath which is a different experience for many people visiting the city.
    Caunos, the ancient city near modern Dalyan, was founded around the 9th century BC.
    Caunos is famous for its rock-cut tombs. After the tour, return to your hotel. Resting & dinner.
    The night is yours.

    Day 9: Fethiye (Wednesday 30 April 2008)

    The day is yours you don't have to wake up early.
    Oludeniz is famous throughout the world for it's natural magnificent beach, crystal clear sea and paragliding activities.
    If you want to have a good fun, you can choose one of our optional activities like jeep safari and paragliding.
    Over night in Oludeniz/Fethiye. Tomorrow, our Famous ANZAC BOAT PARTY(4 Days/3 Nights) departs.
